I hope to improve a number of professional skills and gain insight in another culture by participating in the GSE 2011 expedition to Korea. As a finance professional in Denmark I have an ever changing day, where global macroeconomic developments affect my working day. It is therefore interesting to get another perspective on global economy. I work in the Finance Department of the largest Danish energy company called DONG Energy. I work with external funding, bank relations and cash management. DONG Energy’s main activities are power production (thermal and renewable) and oil & gas production and distribution.
I hope to expand my international experience through participation in GSE 2011. Participation in GSE 2011 will allow me to study another country with a different culture. It will allow me to gain a deeper understanding of the Korean people, its language, and institutions. I hope a deeper understanding of core values and underlying economic drivers for Asian economies and particular Korea will enable me at a later stage in my career to expand business relations and cooperation between Denmark and Asian economies.
I hope that the vocational activities will give me valuable insights in different ways of doing business. I hope to learn more about process optimization and new business models, which hopefully afterwards can be implemented in Denmark. I hope to meet other young professionals within my field of business, which whom I can discuss and exchange ideas.
Personal profile
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I enjoy playing all kind of games with friends and also exploring the cultural life in the city.I am an active person, who seldom just sits down and relaxes. I like to row in the Copenhagen harbor and channels in the summer, In the Winter do I go hunting in the forest and also enjoys spinning on a bike in the local gym.
I love travelling and especially going to places of the beaten track. I have travelled in China, most of Europe, Australia and Russia. I like to get a feeling of the the wonderful nature and atmosphere of South East Asia, and travelled all over Europe.
I see this GSE to Gyeongsangnam in South Korea as an interesting way of experiencing a new culture and at the same time improve my professional qualifications. I look forward to share my competences and learning's with interesting people in Korea and at the same time expanding my own competences and networking skills.
